Players of the Week
Getting up early for 2 days in a row is not just tough on the girls its tough on the parents…..for that I thank you for getting your girls to games on time. I don’t have to imagine how tough that can be, I would love to hear the war stories of the morning cannon ball run to the field. The Booth’s again get the quote of the week when Stacey Booth said " hey we beat coach John to the field"
The 1st game started out as a pitching duel and we exchanged runs for a couple innings until we finally broke through in the 3rd, scoring 6 and we never looked backed. That brings us to MOLLY our player of the game . She pitched 4 innings and was on base all 3 times . Molly and Cameryn pitched 6 innings giving up only 3 runs total.
The 2nd game early Sunday was a team that came in prepared for us, The word must be out that we bunt a lot because their defense played up a little. We showed them that we can be a well disciplined team by making them throw strikes by taking our walks and some great hitting . As in every game the coaches and I discuss plays of the game…. .KAYLA must of heard us and asked us to “hold her coffee” ! If you missed it , I’m sorry because it was a pro style catch. The hitter fouled a ball that didn’t go any higher than 3 ft. and Kayla with a catlike reflex dove and caught it.
Great game girls
Phillies manger Charlie Manuel once said “we are in hitting season” and this past weekend was evidence of that !! We scored 36 runs on 28 hits in 2 games. Ava and Maddie the newly dubbed " smash sisters " were crushing it !! I missed most of 1st game but was told Ava was crushing the ball. In the 2nd game Maddie cleared the bases with a stand up double and also scored from 2nd on a bunt from Bryn Mccay. Everyone contributed to this game. The best quote from the games came from Morgan Booth " we wanted it more"

Dq Power players of the game
It was a great day for softball and the girls were ready to roll !! We started off with a very tough Upper South team who know us well . What they were not prepared for was the fire power we brought this fall season and it couldn’t more noticeable Than our first DQ power player of the game " EMILY " when she cleared the bases in the 5th inning with moon shot to deep center field. It wont be long before she gets one over the fence. The game went back and forth every inning but we out lasted them in the end.
Our 2nd game was against our sister NGSA team which is moving up this year and has some select girls on the team and they proved ready for the task. It turned into a offensive game with a lot runs scored on both teams Fortunately for us our 2nd DQ power player and a newcomer " Cameron" came in and slammed the door shut and closed it out.
There were many accolades to go around and the girls never stopped smiling and kept playing hard and as a coach I cant ask for anything more
